The journey continues….

We’ve ended up in the Southern Highlands of NSW south of Sydney, inland from Wollongong and Kiama.  Our plans were to wing it in regards to accommodation, but a combination of a long weekend and school holidays made it a difficult way to travel.

While in Bathurst we tried many caravan parks in the towns we had selected to visit but unfortunately none were able to accommodate us for the time we wanted to stay.

Greg scoured the map and the parks in the general area and came up with Moss Vale.

It turns out we had arrived during Tulip Time, and the gardens on display have been fantastic.

On our arrival and after setting up our van site, we hopped on our bikes and checked out the little town.

Today we took a drive out towards the coast to Kiama.  P1050679

A seaside town that is well know for it’s Blow Hole.  Unfortunately for us it was out of order….that is to say the wind wasn’t coming from the direction that creates the water rush through the rocks.

Just as well morning tea wasn’t out of order. Or the lane of historic shops we browsed through.

Our aim was to drive over and see the Sea Cliff Bridge, north of Wollongong.  The bridge was built to replace the coastal road that was always having rock slides.  It was closed for more than two years while the bridge was built and it was opened in December 2005.

It was cloudy, windy and cold. but spectacular none the less.

Bake to our van to recover and rest up for tomorrows adventure….

Thanks for visiting,

Oh my! Those places look familiar! I've been to Wollongong, and been on the Sea Cliff Bridge. Can you believe that?! What beautiful places. I'm so envious of you being there. Take it all in and enjoy. Those desserts look to-die-for.
