Where in the world have I been?

Um nowhere special, just mooching about, not doin’ much of anything really!

Spending far too much time on Pinterest! That site is a trap if ever there was one for procrastinators and those of us just wanting to put off a few chores.

This weekend I had a self imposed internet break.  It was a rainy weekend and just perfect for doing just about anything other than sitting in front of my lap top wasting time!

This is what I managed to achieve.

P1050310 Ha ha tricked ya……this monstrosity needed an intervention, the work I’d put into the Grandmothers flower Garden quilt had been ruined by the god-awful binding I used….. it’s a few years old and had been festering in the back of my mind for some time.  A few weeks ago I unpicked the binding with the help of my dear friend Sharon.

Last weekend I auditioned a few fabrics and made the binding.

P1050327 I’m off to a Quilters Retreat next weekend and this binding will be attached to the above quilt.

P1050322 These half square triangles require trimming, I tired of that little task very early in the piece, and will take them to next weekends retreat where I will happily trim while being surrounded by chatter and laughter.  I have a design in mind, but who knows what will happen to them?

P1050321 This will become a bag (of course) yet another project for next weekends retreat!

P1050323 P1050324P1050325 Top left recycled flannel pj’s now baby burp cloths. Top right small baby bibs using face cloths with ribbing trim at the neckline, bottom left large baby bib using hand towel and ribbing for the neckline.

Brooklynn was doing a little Data Entry…..she didn’t care or seem to notice the computer was not turned on!

P1050308 This quick project was last weekends efforts……I gifted it to my friend Shelly, who gives me all her empty coffee jars!

P1050309 My baking efforts, also from last weekend, Truffles, from another friend Gail.

These delectable morsels are created by crushing two packs of White Chocolate Tim Tams in a food processor, then add a softened 250g block of Philly Cream Cheese, run food processor until well combined.  Roll into balls and then coat in melted white chocolate, drizzled with melted dark chocolate.  Refrigerate! Try to resist them!

Well it’s 6pm on a Sunday night here, and it’s time for dinner. a shower and an hour or so in front of the TV……the weekends go far too quickly for my liking!

Thanks for visiting,

Julie xxx

Your little Brooklyn is so adorable and she's grown so much. Looks like you have a lot of projects for your retreat and a retreat is always so fun. I swear those truffles look so good I could lick the screen, good thing they're not at my house or I'd have eaten half of them. Have a great week, Hugs!!

It's good to see what you're doing. Those triangles are in yummy prints and look very tempting to sew.... but trimming. Hmm, not so much. Your little computer guru is darling. Isn't it amazing what they can do when a computer is turned on?! A couple of my young grandsons can find their way around a pad or notebook in no time at all! Make one wonder (worry) about what their future will be like. Probably not even a keyboard to learn how to use! I know you're meeting up with Sue. Hope you two have a blast! Wish I could be there too.

Looking forward to seeing some show and tell as well from you....

Love those hexagons, however old it is. Your grand-daughter is lovelier every time we see her.
Only 3 more sleeps 'til the retreat!! Can't wait.
