Day One of my holidays…..

Today is the first day of my summer holidays, and I am brimming with excitement.  So many things to do and so little time!

It was my birthday on Saturday and I got a new lap top. I spent a lovely day setting it up with all my preferred programs and transferring as much as could be saved from the old one.  Unfortunately I have been unable to successfully transfer my email contacts, or any of the emails I had saved for one reason or other.  Now I will have to look for another method of saving things like links to blog tutorials and the like.  Suggestions gratefully accepted!

My sisters and I went out for dinner Saturday night and I spent Sunday with my family so I managed to stretch my birthday across the whole weekend.

Last night we did our very first stint of ‘baby sitting’  Leah and Corrie had a work Christmas party to attend and Brooklynn spent the evening with us. I bathed her and tried to feed her breast milk from a bottle, but she wasn’t having any….. she cried each time I tried to put the teat into her little mouth. As soon as I took it out and settled her she was fine.  She fell asleep after the last attempt, and stayed asleep until her mummy picked her up at about 11.30 pm.

No too bad for a first time!

Here she is with Georgie and Poppy earlier in the afternoon.

Today I started with a bit of a sleep in, then did a bit of cleaning, just enough to be able to see the timber under the coating of dust…. Three rooms down only 5 to go?

Stay tuned for regular updates on how I’m spending my holidays.

Thanks for visiting

Sending late birthday wishes & hugs. It sounds like you had a lovely weekend.
3 down, 5 to go, I find cleaning the house is like painting the Harbour Bridge. By the time you finish it's time to start again!!!
Can you use a memory stick to transfer the emails across to your new laptop?
I'll kep an eye on your holiday adventures. :-)
hugs, Jan

So glad you got a new computer for your birthday. You'll be able to take it with you to your sewing machine, so we can Skype-sew together! Great!

We also grandies-sat Friday night so mum and dad could go to a work Christmas party. Our evening was totally uneventful. Happily for us, Aesa will take a breast-milk bottle as easily as the real thing.

Enjoy your holiday! You're being watched! Maybe just knowing that, will keep you on track.

Hi Julie.
Happy belated birthday.
Just wanted to tell you, Dad passed away.
The tumors were too much for him.
I know you understand what I am saying.
Thanks for your blog post. Your keep me grounded in this torturous time.

Hi Julie
Great fun in store. Isn't it lovely to have a baby in the house, and I'm sure we don't panic when they cry, like we did when we were young Mum's. We also Grandie-sat as Linda calls it, but we didn't have to bottle feed ours, she is 10 years old - VBG!
So sorry I missed your birthday. Is it the 11th Dec. Anyway Very Happy Birthday to you.Hug Hug!
Love Sue
