Day 5 and the sun is trying to return!

Last night was a little warmer, as there was still quite a bit of cloud cover.  This morning the clouds showed sighs of breaking up and some blue sky was visible by about 10am.

We decided to take a drive to Dubbo and check out the sights, it was lovely in the sun, but in the shade it was freezing.

I found a couple of little patchwork shops to browse in, and these little beauties to add to my collection.

The Snail’s Trail is a foundation pattern for a little 30” x 30” quilt, something a bit different, and the pins are a novelty item I couldn’t resist.

The Slice is a like a Jelly Roll, on a smaller scale. 25 lengths of 2 1/2” wide strips totalling approximately 1.5m.  I’m sure I will find a way to use my purchases.

The wildlife here in the national park is just delightful. The wallabies and emus graze around us, and as long as we don’t make any sudden moves, they continue with their business.

An emu joins the wallabies. These emus walked around and pecked at the ground, I wasn’t able to get too close, so thankfully the zoom in my camera gave a close up look!

The weather is getting cold again this afternoon, as we headed over to the showers, it seems as if a clear night is on the cards.

The showers here are very interesting…they have sensors on them and after waving your hand in front of the sensor, you turn on the water, and in five minutes the water stops.  I was wondering how I was going to wash my hair, but amazingly I managed to get it washed and conditioned before the water ran out!

Tomorrow we plan on doing a few more of the walks.

Thank you for sharing your pictures of the wildlife. They're fascinating animals that we do not see in our part of the world. You're seeing some great stuff!

Liked knowing you made it to a quilt shop and found some perfect items to purchase. And glad to know you can do a shower in under five minutes! Impressive.
