Rainy Saturday and my week in review

This week has been another busy one.  I am all but done with my "SPRING" clean. Just my sewing room and the kitchen to go.  I felt I needed a break and as this week started off so hot, I thought now was the time to take one.

After work I spent the better part of the day in my sewing room getting all the preparation work done on my many BOM projects from various Blog Sites.

I also had some ATC's to complete and post off to meet a deadline.

This is block two in the Christmas BOM from Gail Pan.

Friday being my favourite day of the week I planned to treat myself to a little fabric shopping for the new project I had been wanting to start.  It is another BOM, this time from Homespun Magazine.  It is called Breast of Friends, several well know Australian designers have contributed to this project.

The first two blocks are by Leanne Beasley and Bronwyn Hayes.  Last night I did the preparation work for those blocks too.

Dear Jane Block of the Week

I am a couple of weeks behind with my blocks of the week, but I have every intention of getting them up to date this weekend.

The prep work has been done on D8 Dee's Delight, it is a combination of needle turn applique and reverse applique.

This one was very easy, thankfully!

Finger-tip Oven Mitts

I have had this project in mind for some time, and as it is a friends birthday next week, and I wanted to give her a small sample of my craft work, I remembered this project and thought it was a perfect opportunity to try them out..

They worked out very well even if I say so myself.  I had a fat quarter that I had been using to practice my machine quilting. I was able to get two sets of finger-tip oven mitts from the quilted quarter, oh I did have to use a few other bits and pieces from my stash, but what the heck...all in a good cause!

Final project for the day was more ATC's, these ones are for the Goodie Bags being given out at the SCQuilters Retreat in Adelaide.

Now it is time to head for the shower and then throw myself into the lounge chair and sip on a nice hot cuppa! I'm worn out!
