Where has the last month gone?

It’s been so long since I’ve had anything to blog about and it’s really unusual for me not to have anything to say, I know!! It’s winter here in SEQ and while I love the cold (or at least the change from the 10 months of summer we get) I’ve found this year, winter has been less than motivating.

Only a little stitching is being done, with more knitting and reading than is usual.  I’ve been enjoying the winter sunshine and often sit reading outside instead of stitching.  That’s ok too, it’s just unusual for me is all!!

P1050574 Here is a small sample of my obsession with Pom Pom wool scarf knitting.  It’s so soft and calming to touch!!!

P1050572 My 1/2 inch hexagons have been amalgamated into an as yet undetermined combination….!

P1050573 These blocks are the beginnings of my Granny’s Squares 12 1/2” blocks found here.

The plan is for another 6 to complete the set, but it may go to 12 blocks if I have enough fabric! I used a “jelly roll” of the cream background fabric and a ‘jelly roll’ of the contrasting fabrics purchased while on holidays some time in the recent past!

P1050550 Last weekend I joined my sisters and a couple of friends for a weekend in the city.  We saw Jersey Boys and stayed at Rydges Southbank.

It was a beautiful weekend weather wise with sunshine and mild temperatures. We browsed the markets and enjoyed some lovely food.

Waffles Max Brenner style!

P1050542 These cupcake pot holders may need a wash to soften them sufficiently to allow me to actually pick up a hot pot!! They don’t quite look the part without the cherry on top decoration either!

Still the most beautiful girl in the world!

Now to get dressed and maybe do something??

Nah!

Thanks for visiting,

Julie xxx

Great to read about what you've been up to Julie...always the busy girl! Lucky you having all the sunshine...it's been a tad sparse down here in Melbourne. Can't believe how fast your little GD is growing up..and to think she will have a sibling soon! You're looking great...have you lost weight?

Those wee hexies are adorable. Just keep on makin' 'em! And I'm so glad to see you're on-board with the Great Granny Along. Do you know how many you're going to sew? Oh, oh! We saw the Jersey Boys here, and they were AWESOME! Love, love, love that show and would see it again in a heartbeat. So glad you got to go and have a fun night out with the girls. Hey, it's okay to play!

Sounds like you are surviving winter and enjoying reading. There are times when reading just seems the way to go rather than crafting, I think a time out from one or the other helps motivate us in the end. Looks like you have a fabulous trip and lots of fun and good food. Take care and Hugs.
