Ha ha ha…..I’m delirious, I know, but it’s time to go back to work tomorrow, and I’m sure I’d rather stay home and stitch!
Oh well I can dream, can’t I?
We arrived home safely, after having to get off the road for yet another extra wide load, it was coming from the opposite direction, so there was no slow following for miles and miles…….
We then spent the next day unpacking the van and sorting the washing. The weather hasn’t been kind to loads of winter washing and drying, consequently the woollen wash awaits a sunny day….that is sunny a-l-l day!
After the great unpacking, and grocery grab, I went to my sewing room to get reacquainted with my stash.
From a metre of vinyl coated fabric these zippered pouches and a shopping tote appeared. I have saved the left over for when inspiration strikes.
I was having a ‘red’ day obviously, this bag used up the leftovers from this quilt……so glad I hadn’t put them away yet.
The pattern comes from the the Spring 2010 Quilts & More from (American) Better Homes and Gardens Creative Collection. I changed it a little, by ‘boxing’ the bottom to give it a little more room. The quilted 3” squares form an outer pocket all around, and I incorporated my first attempt at self covered buttons…..I’m in love!!!!!
That brought me up to Friday night, then Saturday dawned and I still had washing to do…..so I went back to my sewing room and did some more ‘bonding’ while the machine did it’s thing.
Some four patch blocks using the scraps from this quilt, so glad I hadn’t packed them away either!! Not sure where they are leading me, but I’m just going with the flow right now.
I have a very short attention span, so while working on the four patch blocks, I was also working on these foundation hearts for the Stitching Tote I did this stitchery for.
Never one to settle on one project for too long, I packed up and headed for my TV chair and worked on another set of 1/2” hexies, while watching television cosy in my pj’s, dressing gown and slippers. Just like the Nanny I’m in training to be!!!
So that’s the end of my 2 week holiday, it went too fast!
sob! sob! Sob! SOB! SOB! Get a grip ya big sook! Ahem…..
Thanks for visiting…..sniff… sniff!!!

Glad your Nanny training is going well :D I looove that red bag too! A tad bigger and it'd make a damn good looking nappy bag ;)
The bags look great. Glad you had a great holiday and got home safely.

Your red collection is really nice, and so's the patchwork bag.
I'm in sympathy mourning for you. The thought of going to work - at all! - makes me want to snuggle under a quilt with a romance novel. Okay if I do that while you go to work?
Great work Leah is right a great nappy Bag in red White and black would be stunning Come on you need another project.!
Glad you had a good holiday and are home safe...Great Inspiration you have had love all your new sewing goodies...Hope you have a good week.

Ditto all the lovely comments the others have said...I can't believe you have got so much done in the blink of an eyelid. You are more manic than ever :)
Gosh Julie you have been busy! That red bag is gorgeous. I also like your laminated fabric bags. I have been thinking of using some of this stuff for bags too. What needle did you use on your sewing machine for this fabric?
Cheers

How the hell do you do it!!!!
Whoops am I allowed to say that word?
Looove the bag. Do you have a wardrobe just for the bags?
And the vinyl bags - you are too much.
Wish I lived next door, I'd be inspired every day - trouble with that though we would do lots of talking and not enough quilting.lol
Want some expertise from Grandma of 19??
Cheers
Sue
