I am so over this quilt!

Maybe I am so over being hot and sweaty?….maybe I am so over my 12 year old son being home on school holidays?… maybe I so need a new project?

Whatever it is, this ‘flimsy’ is going away until I can face basting and quilting it when the weather cools!

It seems Georgie approves, as soon as I put the blasted thing on the floor she’s all over it!

Last week I visited my dear friend Sharon. She moved to the other side of Brisbane a few years ago and although we have kept in close contact via emails & texts, visits and face to face get together’s have been a bit sparse as work and family commitments take up so much of our spare time.

Sharon is on holidays and invited me to come for a sleep-over…..what girl doesn’t love a sleep-over? I arrived Thursday armed with a couple of BB’s and my comfy PJ’s.

We had a cuppa and caught up on news over lunch, then we visited some of Sharon’s local quilting haunts. First stop The Birdhouse, I found two must have books and a couple of delightful single page patterns….one of which I have already made up.

After a browse through Lincraft, we then went to Bayside Stitch Craft where I found the perfect red fabric I needed for the ‘peeper border’ and binding on the Breast of Friends quilt. I also had my first look at Oil Cloth, MEXOILRED-3a metre of this has come home with me for a play date……only 7 days into 2010 and I’m already buying for my ever growing stash…. surely a repeat offender? Is there any chance of rehabilitation? I guess not!

As you can imagine, we had an exhausting day and could only just drag ourselves out for a bike ride around her beautiful neighbourhood, before collapsing onto the deck to begin sampling the BB’s…..ah this could be the life! After dinner of BBQ T-bone steak and salad we talked and laughed into the evening.

Just reading about our exploits has exhausted me so I’ll post more about our Sleep-Over when I recover!!

Thanks for visiting,

Bye for now……..
