10 working days and counting.....

This week sped by in a blur, so may things to do so little time.

The felted bag is now complete and I plan on giving it away in a random draw to those who leave a comment on my blog before next Friday the 12th September 2009. **(Thanks Del for pointing out that Friday is ACTUALLY the 11th September)**

P1010980 So if you would like to receive this felted bag in the mail, please leave me a comment and I will draw a winner next week and post it off the following week.

P1010982 Here is the bag in our newly re-furbished garden. Greg spent Thursday trimming, replanting, re potting and generally tidying up the area that my sewing room overlooks. We loosely call it the Japanese Garden.

Here is another angle......

Here he is surveying his efforts.....

While he was working on the garden, I began working on the flannel panel I bought last week for a work mate due to have her first baby soon.

P1010986 P1010985

It is a long narrow panel so I cut off the top border, added a square of fabric from the backing/binding to tie it together, made it a more usable size too.

P1010977 This project came from this site, I had some fabric at home that I used to trial the dress to see if I liked it enough to make another, it was super quick and the instructions easy to follow. It make me look a bit more 'busty' that I'd like, but the truth hurts perhaps??

P1010984 My dear friend Kali was visiting from Tasmania for a few days so I was fortunate to be able to catch up with her and her friend Lynette at The Quilters' Store yesterday. We did a little chatting, a little browsing and a little stash enhancement, not all the above came from there I must add. The Sewing Calendar was a purchase from The Book Depository (my very favourite place to buy books) and the bag handles came from a lady reducing her stash as she is moving into a nursing home.

I've saved my exciting news 'till last.....those of you who get Homespun and know I am working on The Breast of Friends BOM may already know that this months edition has a photograph of one of my blocks included in the final instalment, I am thrilled to have work of mine included in a magazine article no matter how small! For those of you unable to see the mag, here it is.

Another fabulous week comes to an end bringing me closer to 'those' holidays.....10 w o r k i n g d a y s!!!

Remember to leave me a comment if you want to be included in the random draw to win my Felted Bag.

Thanks for visiting...

Congratulations that is exciting news... so how many copies of the magazine have you ordered:)
Was the felted bag made as one piece the same way slippers are made or is there a different technique? Looks like a project worth trying the hand at.

The bag is lovely Julie and I love the old stove it is hanging from, reminds me of the one we had on the farm but ours wasn't so shiny, the garden is a eye catching layout and easy to manage no mowing.
Your friend will be happy with the gorgeous cheery quilt for new baby DD gave me a quilting calendar for Christmas I look at it every day marvelling at the fact it's first quilty thing she has bought me perhaps she is now comfortable with my hobby.
