The other reason to spend the weekend at home.....

My new oven!

P1010868

I don't usually get excited about cooking, I like to cook, but I'm not all that good at it.  For the past 12 years I have struggled with my oven, it seemed too hot for just about everything I cooked.  I tried lowering the temp, and it did improve the results, but recently when shopping for a new clothes dryer Greg and I ventured to the kitchen area.

The thermostat on the largest element of the cook-top was very temperamental.  Several years ago a repair quote came in at almost $200, so I persevered with what I had.

Now that Kleenmaid has gone belly up, we were sure no parts would be available and after 12 years thought a new once would be a worthwhile expense.  So to cut a long story short, I now have a new oven and cook-top.

It was installed on Friday afternoon, and to celebrate I cooked a Chocolate Cake...... not from scratch mind!

The end result was delicious, and I think the new oven is a hit! The cook top hasn't event been turned on.....can't rush into these things, it is the weekend after all!P1010871
