It has been a long term, 11 weeks is too long to be getting up at a quarter to five! I'm a sook, I know there are many people who get up earlier than me, and work much longer hours, and don't have the benefit of school holidays to rest and recuperate......I'm selfishly thinking of myself right now however!
Today after I finished work I made a few PPP's - (Piles of Priority Projects). This bag needed just the handles and the tie to complete it, so it was close to the top of the pile. A girl I work with is having a baby soon and knows it's a girl, so when I saw this fabric in the curtain section of Spotlight I couldn't resist.
It is a pattern by Kookaburra Cottage called Gym & Swim Tote, it is roomy with internal pockets, just perfect for a baby bag. There are a few scraps left so I plan on making a matching zippered pouch, like this one.....
This was the next project to be finished. It is a scrappy table runner created so I could show the glue binding technique that Sharon Schamber uses, to the members of my local patchwork group. It was a quickie project and only needed the binding to be hand stitched today.
The rest of my time has been spent getting the preparation done on the various free BOM's I have begun after finding them on the various Blogs I trawl, I keep telling myself not to look at any more, but it is very hard to resist the clever and generous people out there in 'Blogland'
As I begin counting down to the holidays (only 6 sleeps) I will be pottering around in my sewing room, making a few more PPP's, they seem to motivate me, I like to see a pile of projects disappear as I complete the few bits left to do.
