Summer Fling from Make it Perfect

P1010763 P1010761

Not a lot to blog about, although I am never without something to do. It's been another hectic week with work, and socializing, all thoroughly enjoyable, but I get a few withdrawal symptoms when I haven't been able to complete a project and brag blog about it!!

This week at patchwork I had nothing but WIP's for show'n'tell.

Thursday the remedy began.  Greg had casually mentioned the night before, as he was reading the local free paper that a nearby Patchwork Shop was discounting their entire fabric range, sounded to me like a must visit for the next day after work. Well I had been given 'permission' hadn't I?

As I browsed the very small range of fabrics, the sales assistant and I were talking about the new direction the owner was taking with the shop and she showed me their lovely range of clothing patterns, and talked about classes that were planned, and as it does, one thing lead to another and three patterns came home with me along with a very eclectic collection of discounted fabrics.

Having been a 'sewer' before I discovered 'patchwork and quilting' it has been many years since I made myself any clothes, it seemed such a waste of time when I could get cheaper off the rack, and save my precious spare time for quilting.

The patterns whet my appetite for a new direction of my own.

The first completed garment is photographed above. Summer Fling from Make it Perfect it is a simple pattern that even the newest garment maker could master.  Nice easy instructions, and once I find something suitable to wear with it, I shall be set!
