My very first Dear Jane blocks

My friend Margaret says I am mad, and she is probably right, but I can't help thinking that Dear Jane is a challenge I should not resist.

I have been sewing most of my life and I took up Patchwork and Quilting seriously when I joined a community group in 1991.

My daughter Leah was just two and I was a stay at home mum. While I had been dabbling in patchwork, I felt the need to share with others my love of stitching, this group was the outlet I needed, and I have met some wonderful friends who have been with me through the good and the bad times in my life.

For that reason I plan to dedicate my Dear Jane project to those fabulous women who make up my "Circle of Friends" not all of the members of my "Circle" are stitching friends, but each and every one of them have added depth to who I am as a person!

These two blocks are by far the simplest and took absolutely no time at all, although I am under no illusions that the rest will be as simple, I plan on seeing each block as a challenge and a reminder of the sometimes tough times in life accompanied by the joyous occasions, all the time shared by my "Circle of Friends"

TO YOU LADIES.....YOU KNOW WHO YOU ARE!

Yayyy Julie, you go girl! You are going to absolutely love doing your Dear Jane blocks..I promise you that. Even the challenging ones are a joy to create. So glad you've bitten the bullet cos I know what a fantastic sewing fiend you are and your blocks will be perfect (unlike mine).
